Healthified Cheddar Bay Biscuits
It’s the first day of summer vacation. I officially have a middle schooler! That’s just crazy to me. You know what else is crazy to me? How easy and cheesy these Healthified Cheddar Bay Biscuits are! You know what bay biscuits are, right? Those tasty crumbly cheesy biscuits they have at that popular seafood chain restaurant. These are my healthified take and those!
How are they healthified? I’m glad you asked! I subbed in some whole wheat to start off with. I also used a reduced fat cheese to lower the calories a bit. Same thing with almond milk in place of regular. And you know what else? Natural sweetener for sugar.
How’d they turn out? Well, if you can’t tell by the pictures, they turned out great! Cheesy goodness in the form of a biscuit that’s somehow light, buttery, crumbly and fluffy! I definitely suggest using the optional butter over the tops, but they are also perfectly good without it.
These biscuits are great on their own, but they’re really good at soaking up the bottom of bowls of soups and stews!
