Healthy Banana Split
I LOVE banana splits. But, I’ll be the first to tell you that I haven’t had an actual one in yeeeears. In fact, I think the last time I had one was when I worked in an ice cream parlor. Yep! I worked in an ice cream shop when I was fresh out of college and before I got my real adult job as a graphic designer. It’s probably a good thing too. I got all my ice cream eating out of my system at a young age when I could afford the calories.
This banana split is a nod to the classic. But, it won’t leave you feeling guilty. Actually, this banana split is SO deliciously guilt-free that you can even indulge in it for breakfast. That’s what I did. I had this bad boy for breakfast and I couldn’t be more okay with it.
This banana split starts off with, you guessed it, a split banana. After that, I layered on plenty of vanilla greek yogurt (the 100 calorie packs.) Some diced pineapple, strawberries and chocolate chips are all you need after that. Okay, well some whipped cream and maybe a cherry or chopped nuts on top.
Have it for breakfast or even as a healthy take on a banana split for dessert! Share it or don’t. Though you probably won’t.
If you’re feeling extra naughty, give a little drizzle of dark chocolate sauce or even some rainbow jimmies/sprinkles.
