Meet your new favorite party trick: Cheddar Ranch Bread. It’s the love child of gooey, golden cheddar and the tangy, herb-packed goodness of ranch — all swaddled in soft warm homemade bread. It’s one of those recipes that makes people immediately happier the moment you set it down on the table. Plus, with a few smart swaps and portion-friendly habits, you can enjoy all the soulful comfort with less gut-sigh afterward. Welcome to indulgence with a conscience.
Why Cheddar Ranch Bread works
Texture Contrast: Crisp, cheesy goodness; soft, pillowy interior. The outside gets that irresistible crackle while the inside stays light and fluffy.
Flavor Harmony: Sharp cheddar plays perfectly with ranch’s tangy zip and the herbal brightness of dill and chives.
Shareability: It’s visually fun (pull-apart pieces!) and perfect for gatherings, game days, picnics, or a cheeky weeknight side.

Cheddar Ranch Bread
It’s the love child of gooey, golden cheddar and the tangy, herb-packed goodness of ranch — all swaddled in soft warm homemade bread.
Ingredients
- 1 1/3 C. Warm Water
- 3 Tbsp. Butter
- 3 3/4 C. Bread Flour
- 1/2 C. Shredded Cheddar
- 3 Tbsp. Sugar
- 1 Tbsp. Dry Ranch Mix
- 1 1/2 Tsp. Salt
- 1 1/2 Tsp. Active Dry Yeast
Instructions
- Place the 1 1/3 C. Warm Water, 3 Tbsp. Butter, 3 3/4 C. Bread Flour, 1/2 C. Shredded Cheddar, 3 Tbsp. Sugar, 1 Tbsp. Dry Ranch Mix, 1 1/2 Tsp. Salt, and 1 1/2 Tsp. Active Dry Yeast into the basin of a bread machine in the order indicated by the manual.
- Set the machine to 'dough' option and let it run.
- Once done (about an hour and a half later), set your oven to 'warm' or 'bread proof' and lightly coat a 9x5" loaf pan with non-stick baking spray and transfer the dough to the pan.
- Cover lightly with a tea towel and place the pan in the warmed oven to proof for about 30 minutes.
- Once the dough has risen again, remove from the oven and preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- When the oven is preheated, remove the tea towel and place the pan into the oven to bake for 30-35 minutes or until browned on the top and the bread sounds hollow when you tap it.
- Remove from the oven to cool for 5-10 minutes before removing the loaf from the pan to a wire rack to continue cooling. (Butter the top if desired.)
- Once cooled off, slice and enjoy!
